Bookham appoints Yves LeMaitre

Maker of optical components, modules and subsystems Bookham Inc of San Jose, CA, USA has appointed Yves LeMaitre as vice president of global sales for the company's telecommunications division and vice president of corporate marketing. Based at the Bookham’s headquarters in San Jose, LeMaitre will be responsible for leading the telecom sales team and corporate communications group.

LeMaitre previously held several executive positions with Avanex Corp, most recently as chief marketing officer in charge of worldwide sales and marketing. Prior to Avanex, LeMaitre was president and CEO of Lightconnect, a supplier of optical MEMS components and modules. He has also worked for Alcatel, and its joint venture with Sprint International.

LeMaitre graduated from Nantes University in France with a master's degree in mathematics and computer science. He also holds an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (ENST) in Paris.
