M/A-COM Tech introduces high-performance components for microwave and RF applications at EuMW

M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc (M/A-COM Tech) of Lowell, MA, USA has introduced a range of high-performance components, including families of power amplifiers, voltage controlled oscillators, driver amplifiers, and a broadband voltage variable attenuator, aimed at point-to-point microwave radio block diagrams. All of the new products will be unveiled and on display at the European Microwave Week (EuMW) trade show, taking place this week in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 27-31 October.

Joe Thomas, president of M/A-COM Tech, said: “Consumers’ growing appetite for wireless data is forcing providers to look for better, more efficient ways to backhaul this information. Our Point-to-Point product line enables superior performance for a wide range of microwave radios. Our broad product portfolio positions M/A-COM Tech as the destination for companies looking for high-performance microwave and RF radio products.”

In September, Cobham acquired the Aerospace & Defense and the Commercial businesses of Tyco Electronics Wireless Systems Segment d.b.a. M/A-COM Inc. The Commercial business has been incorporated as M/A-COM Technology Solutions (M/A-COM Tech) and provides design solutions and products including:

  • silicon, GaAs, AlGaAs, InGaAs, InP and SiGe devices;
  • unique monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) processes, including HMIC (heterolithic microwave integrated circuit), GMIC (glass microwave integrated circuit), MSAG (multi-function self-aligned gate GaAs MESFET), and iHBT (InGaP/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor);
  • in-house design, fabrication, assembly and screening capabilities;
  • multiple facilities (for improved flexibility and local content
    manufacturing); and
  • design expertise from RF through millimeter-wave frequencies.
