IQE appoints director of North American sales

Epiwafer foundry and substrate maker IQE plc of Cardiff, Wales, UK has appointed Brian VanOrsdel as director of North American sales & strategic accounts for its optoelectronic product portfolio.

VanOrsdel has more than 20 years of sales management experience in optoelectronic and telecom technologies at companies such as Epitaxx and JDSU and, most recently, at Bookham Inc as strategic accounts manager.

He will be based in New York and responsible for continuing to expand IQE’s business in the USA and Canada, offering the firm’s epitaxial services in wafer applications using InP, InGaAs, GaAs, GaN, AlInGaAs, AlInGaP, InGaAsP, SiGe and silcon (made using MOCVD, MBE, and CVD growth technologies at IQE’s manufacturing/epi-reactor sites in the US, UK, and Singapore).
