Zumtobel launches LED fixtures based on Cree's TrueWhite technology

At this week’s Light + Building tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany, lighting manufacturer Zumtobel Group of Dornbirn, Austria has launched three new LED fixtures based on the TrueWhite technology of LED chip, lamp and lighting fixture maker Cree Inc of Durham, NC, USA. The new fixtures are the latest result of an ongoing, multi-year collaboration between Cree and Zumtobel that was agreed in October 2008. Available from 1 May, the fixtures will include:

  • PANOS INFINITY, a family of professional LED downlights with up to 2800 delivered lumens at 77 lumens per watt luminaire efficiency;
  • CRAYON, an LED downlight delivering 1000 lumens; and
  • VIVO LED-R, an LED spotlight and pendant family.

“This new product launch demonstrates the enormous advantages of solid-state lighting over conventional sources; resulting from the powerful combination of Zumtobel’s world-class lighting fixture development capabilities with Cree’s market-leading TrueWhite technology,” says Ty Mitchell, Cree’s VP & general manager, LED Lighting.
