Avago joins Russell 1000 Index

Avago Technologies Ltd, which designs and supplies analog interface components (with a focus on III-V based products) for communications, industrial and consumer applications, has been added to the Russell 3000 Index and the large-cap Russell 1000 Index, effective after the close of the equity markets on 25 June.

“Membership in the Russell 1000 Index represents another milestone for Avago,” says Doug Bettinger, Avago’s senior VP finance & chief financial officer. “Inclusion reflects Avago’s place in the market after our IPO in August 2009.”

Annual reconstitution of Russell’s US indexes captures the 4000 largest US stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes. Russell indexes are used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies.
