Nantong Tongfang increases HB-LED capacity with Aixtron G5 MOCVD reactors

Deposition equipment maker Aixtron SE of Herzogenrath, Germany says that in Q1/2011 it received an order for multiple AIX G5 HT MOCVD reactors, in 56x2-inch and 14x4-inch configurations, from existing customer Nantong Tongfang, located in China. The systems will be used in the production of high brightness light emitting diodes (HB-LEDs). Delivery of the systems began in Q2/2011 and is due to be completed in Q4/2011. Aixtron’s local support team will install and commission the reactors.

“With the new reactors we will be able to achieve the capacity increase needed for our high brightness LED products. They will augment our two existing AIX 2800G4 systems that continue to serve us well having very quickly provided high quality LED materials with excellent characteristics.
