RFMW to distribute MwT’s RF and microwave products in EMEA

MicroWave Technology Inc (MwT) of Fremont, CA, USA (a subsidiary of IXYS Corp that makes microwave devices, MMICs, modules and subsystems for wireless communication infrastructure, defense, industrial and medical equipment applications) has announced a distribution agreement for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Israel (EMEA) with RFMW Ltd of San Jose, CA, USA. RFMW is a specialized distributor providing customers and suppliers with focused distribution of RF and microwave components as well as specialized component-engineering and logistics support.

RFMW will distribute MwT’s portfolio of RF and microwave products including discrete semiconductors, gallium arsenide (GaAs) and gallium nitride (GaN) RF power amplifiers, low-noise pHEMT devices, monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), wireless amplifiers, hybrid modules, Gunn diodes (packaged and chip) and connectorized microwave amplifiers.

“We understand the value that a focused, technically competent distribution partner can offer our customers,” comments MwT’s general manager Dr Greg Zhou. “RFMW has the expertise and resources to cover customers from small development groups up to OEMs and contract manufacturers. This agreement builds upon the successful relationship that the two companies have had in North America and will make it easier for customers to find MwT solutions that fit their particular requirements,” he adds.

“MwT has a long history of developing high-performance GaAs semiconductors,” notes RFMW's president Joel Levine. “With their recent advances in GaN-based products, customer interest has been piqued and RFMW stands ready to promote the product offering into this diverse market,” he adds. “Our goal is to expand MwT’s design-in opportunities and provide a high level of customer support to MwT’s current customers.”
