Semiconductor Today appoints Associate VP of Business Development, Asia

Oxford, UK, 18 May 2011: Juno Publishing and Media Solutions Ltd, publisher of Semiconductor Today magazine, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John J. Cerilli to the newly created role of Associate VP of Business Development, Asia.  Reporting directly to Co-CEO Darren Cummings, John's responsibilities include advertisement sales to firms located in Asia, as well as the development of new revenue streams worldwide.

With over thirty years experience in the semiconductor sector, John’s wealth of sales and marketing knowledge and his industry connections are an invaluable resource. Most recently, he spent five years with compound semiconductor substrates supplier AXT Inc of Fremont, CA, USA, where he had dual executive leadership responsibility as both Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for the California Customer Service team and sales representatives in 10 global regions with a main focus on NE Asia (including a plant with over 1000 employees in Beijing, China). At AXT, John helped boost sales from $25M per year to over $27M per quarter (>$100M per year) in just five years through a multi-faceted campaign.

Prior to AXT Inc, John was Director of Sales and Marketing with MOCVD deposition equipment manufacturer Aixtron SE, based in Germany, where he was instrumental in introducing the firm’s Tricent system.  Earlier in his career, John held a variety of senior executive roles, including Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing with semiconductor market research and consulting research firm Semico Research Corp; Vice President and General Manager, Silicon Wafer Group with silicon wafer polishing and lapping equipment  maker Speedfam-IPEC Inc; and Vice President of Sales and Marketing with semiconductor market research firm Cahners-InStat.
