RFMD launches 6-bit serial-controlled digital step attenuators
RF Micro Devices Inc of Greensboro, NC, USA says that its new RFSA2644/2654 6-bit digital step attenuators (DSAs) feature high linearity over their entire 31.5dB gain control range, with 0.5dB steps with an accuracy of +/-(0.1dB + 5% attenuation range). IIP3 is >50dBm for all steps. The frequency range is 50-4000MHz for the RFSA2644 and 5-2000MHz for the RFSA2654.
The devices are programmed via a serial mode control interface that is both 3V and 5V logic-compatible. They also have a rugged Class 1C HBM (human body model) electrostatic discharge (ESD) rating via on-chip ESD circuitry.
Applications include transceiver RF and IF stages; 2G, 3G, LTE and WiMax/WiFi; wireless data, satellite terminals; test equipment; CATV/satellite set-top boxes; cable modems; CATV infrastructure; and data network equipment.
The multi-chip module (MCM) is footprint-compatible with most 24-pin, 4mm x 4mm QFN packages. Pricing begins at $1.76 each in 750-unit quantities.
