M/A-COM Tech showcasing new products at IMS 2012

In booth 815 at the 2012 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium tradeshow in Montréal, Canada (19-21 June), M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc of Lowell, MA, USA (which makes analog semiconductors, components and subassemblies for RF, microwave and millimeter-wave applications) is showcasing a broad portfolio of new products for wireless backhaul, CATV, optical communications, and aerospace & defense applications.

New product solutions on display include:

  • 42GHz SmartSet chipset for point-to-point wireless backhaul (including a 1 Watt power amplifier with 22dB gain and 38dBm OIP3);
  • 350W GaN Smart Pallet, designed for S-band air-traffic control (ATC) radar with drain efficiency of more than 60%;
  • highly linear Edge QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) variable gain amplifier (VGA) designed for CATV head-end modules (exceeding DOCSIS DRFI specifications with 7dB typical performance margin);
  • new S-band Switch Limiter with 125W Tx input power handling capability and low insertion loss (suiting radar receiver protection); and
  • optical modulator drivers for 100G DP-QPSK line-cards and transponders with data rates of up to 32Gbps, output amplitude of up to 8Vpp, and low power consumption.
