Victor Tu joins GigOptix as vice president of Sales for Asia Pacific region

GigOptix Inc of San Jose, CA, USA (a fabless supplier of analog semiconductor and optical components enabling high-speed end-to-end information streaming over optical fiber and wireless networks) has appointed Victor Tu to the new position of vice president of Sales for the Asia Pacific Region.

“The addition of Victor to the GigOptix family adds significant strength and experience to our international sales approach,” said Dr. Avi Katz, chief executive officer and chairman of GigOptix. “We have continuously grown our business in the Asia Pacific Region to date but this new role will enable us to take our customer engagements to the next level. We are challenging Victor to help improve our market position in one of the fastest growing regions for the communications market. Tu has nearly 20 years of semiconductor sales and engineering experience. Prior to joining GigOptix, he served as VP of Sales (APAC) at Gennum Corporation, which was acquired by Semtech Corporation in March of 2012. Tu was responsible for growing sales of analog and mixed signal products, through direct sales and regional distribution channels. Previously, he worked for an array of startup optical component companies, where he managed and directed worldwide sales. Tu received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia.
