M/A-COM Technology introduces new TIAs for 100G applications

At the European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC 2012) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (17-19 September), M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc of Lowell, MA, USA (which makes analog semiconductors, components and subassemblies for RF, microwave and millimeter-wave applications) has introduced two transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) for 100GbE ROSA and 100G DP-QPSK applications.

MATA-002902 is a 28Gbps Dual Chanel Limiting TIA, ideal for 100G Ethernet ROSA (28 Gbps x 4) receivers. It operates from a +3.3V power supply and has a typical bandwidth of 21 GHz. Available as a die, it features automatic DC offset compensation while the input current ranges from 0.05mApp to 2.5mApp.

MATA-038032A is a dual channel differential linear TIA with AGC for 100G DP-QPSK (32 Gbps x4) receivers. Each channel has differential input and output. MATA-038032A offers both manual and automatic gain control modes; in manual mode the gain can be controlled from 200Ω to 5.0KΩ differential via an external pin. In automatic mode, the gain is automatically adjusted to provide a constant output voltage. The TIA provides a linear amplification for current levels from 0.1mApp to 2mApp differential and has adjustable bandwidth between 17 and 25 GHz.

Production quantities and samples of both products are available from stock.
