Infinera appoints another former Juniper executive to board

Infinera Corp of Sunnyvale, CA, USA, a vertically integrated manufacturer of digital optical network systems incorporating its own indium phosphide-based photonic integrated circuits (PICs), has appointed James Dolce to its board of directors.

Dolce recently joined mobile security company Lookout Inc as CEO. Previously, he helped to steer numerous telecoms technology companies through rapid growth phases, including as an executive at Akamai Technologies, founder & CEO of Verivue, founder & CEO of Unisphere Networks, and executive VP worldwide sales & marketing at Juniper Networks (which acquired Unisphere in 2002). Dolce played a key role in growing Juniper to a multi-billion-dollar revenue run rate from 2002-2006.

“Infinera is well positioned to benefit from the continued growth of cloud-based services and I look forward to working with the team to define what the network will be,” says Dolce.

“Dolce is a valuable addition to the Infinera board,” says chairman Kambiz Hooshmand. “We are pleased to have Jim on the team as we work together to accelerate the deployment of Intelligent Transport Networks around the world.”

Also, Dr Dan Maydan is retiring from the board of directors after 13 years of service. Maydan first joined the board of directors in 2001. “Dan provided invaluable insight, and helped take the company from a startup to a leading provider of Intelligent Transport Networks globally,” comments CEO Tom Fallon.
