Cree extends range of OSQ Series outdoor area and flood LED luminaires, doubling lumen output
LED chip, lamp and lighting fixture maker Cree Inc of Durham, NC, USA has extended its OSQ Series of area and flood LED luminaires, delivering better performance, expanding applications and offering savings with the new OSQ High Output (HO) portfolio.
With up to 65,000 lumens, the new luminaire more than doubles the top lumen output of the original OSQ Series and can replace multiple metal halide (MH) 1000W fixtures. The result is energy savings of more than 80% using one OSQ-HO luminaire. The new product extends the application range for open area and flood luminaires to projects with high mounting heights, including high mast and large parking lots, and has special packages for outdoor automotive frontlines.
“Compared to other LED area lighting options, the OSQ luminaire is smaller and lighter, making it easier to install while delivering increased energy savings at exceptional performance levels,” claims David Elien, Cree senior VP, lighting.
The OSQ Series blends optical control, advanced thermal management and modern aesthetics to reduce maintenance and energy costs for a rapid return on investment, claims Cree. In automotive frontline (AF) applications, the OSQ-HO luminaire supports true-to-life colors with a color rendering index (CRI) of 90 and optical distributions that are optimized to highlight vehicles on display.
The new luminaire delivers efficacy of up to 125 lumens-per-watt (LPW) for maximum utility rebates and a much lower total cost of ownership. The fixtures are also backed by Cree’s 10-year warranty.
The OSQ-HO Series will be available to ship this summer and is sold through Cree lighting sales channels throughout the USA.
