Veeco backs awards for MBE innovators

Two MBE awards will be co-sponsored this year by MBE systems manufacturer Veeco Instruments Inc. The Al Cho Award and the MBE Innovator Award both recognize individuals that have made significant advances in MBE technology.

The Al Cho Award will be presented in September at the International MBE Conference, which will take place in Japan, at Tokyo’s Waseda University. Submission deadline is July 1, 2006.

The MBE Innovator Award is to be presented at the North American Conference on Molecular Beam Epitaxy (NAMBE), held in October at Duke University, Durham, NC, USA. Submission deadline is September 1, 2006.

Nominees for both awards are welcome from academic, government, and commercial organizations.

Jeffrey Hohn, VP and GM of Veeco's MBE Operations, said: “MBE is a critical enabling technology for compound semiconductor devices, and we're honored to help recognize those outstanding individuals who have contributed to MBE's success to date, and to spur innovations that further expand MBE's usage."
