Riber receives research MBE system orders from Romania and New Zealand

Riber S.A. of Bezons, France, which manufactures molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) systems as well as evaporation sources and effusion cells, says that it has signed two orders for research MBE machines in October.

One order is for a Compact 21 DZ system from a leading laboratory in Bucharest, Romania. In coopĂ©ration with Oxford Instruments, this new system will allow the laboratory to further strengthen its development capabilities for the design of gallium nitride (GaN)-based devices. This is Riber’s fourth order for a Compact 21 DZ system this year, confirming the success of its market introduction in October last year, says the firm.

Riber has also sold a Compact 21-2' MBE machine to the University of Victoria in Wellington, New Zealand, which will help to expand its research capabilities for new III-V structures. The Compact 21-2' is a new entry-level system developed by Riber to enable laboratories to carry out compound semiconductor research projects while optimizing their fixed costs.

Riber says that, highlighting its proactive approach to the research MBE market, these latest commercial developments confirm the firm’s upturn in order levels.
