Tanya Paskova joins Kyma Technologies

Developer of high purity crystalline gallium nitride (GaN) and aluminum nitride (AlN) materials Kyma Technologies Inc of Raleigh, NC, USA has appointed Dr Tanya Paskova to the position of chief scientist.

An expert in GaN crystal growth and characterization, Paskova has collaborated with Kyma since early last year, resulting in several scientific journal articles and conference presentations documenting the structural properties of the company’s native nonpolar GaN substrates.

Prior to joining Kyma, Paskova was an assistant professor at Sofia University, Bulgaria, and also held posts as a visiting lecturer and an associate professor at Linköping University, Sweden and University of Bremen, Germany. At Linköping, Paskova worked on the development of GaN epitaxial growth and studied the basic properties of nitride materials and structures with Professor Bo Monemar’s team. She has degrees from both Sofia University and Linköping University.

Drew Hanser, Kyma’s VP business development and CTO, said: “The addition of Tanya to our team represents an exciting opportunity to build upon our ongoing efforts to improve our current products, to develop new products, and to grow our portfolio of strategic partnerships. I believe that both our commercial customers and our government contract supporters will be pleased with the results of bringing Tanya on board.”

“We are very pleased that Tanya has decided to join our team. She is not only an expert in crystalline GaN materials, but also a true scientific leader that has developed highly productive collaborative research partnerships around the world,” added Kyma’s president and CEO, Keith Evans.

Paskova has authored over 200 scientific papers, reviews and chapters in journals and books, and is also the editor of two scientific books.
