Bridgelux of Sunnyvale, CA, USA, has ordered two Close Coupled Showerhead CRIUS MOCVD systems from Aixtron of Aachen, Germany, both in 31x2-inch wafer configuration. Bridgelux will use the systems to expand its volume production of AlInGaN-based HB-LEDs.
Mark Swoboda, CEO of Bridgelux, said: “We have one of the strongest R&D teams in the industry who are looking forward to working with the CRIUS systems. Its high throughput and superior economics exactly match the needs of our customers in the cost-sensitive general lighting marketplace.”
Rainer Beccard, Aixtron’s director of marketing, added: “It is always very satisfying to be able to announce a new customer for our range of high performance MOCVD tools. We welcome Bridgelux into the Aixtron family and I am sure that the Close Coupled Showerhead CRIUS systems will exceed all expectations in terms of material quality and productivity. Backed up by the standard-setting local Aixtron service support the CRIUS is proving very popular with customers worldwide.”
Founded in 2002, Bridgelux says it introduced the industry’s first high volume ITO/InGaN power LED chip and delivers millions of chips every month to customers worldwide.See related items:
