Skyworks launches 5GHz front-end module supporting simultaneous Wi-Fi and LAA protocols
Skyworks Solutions Inc of Woburn, MA, USA (which manufactures analog and mixed-signal semiconductors) has introduced the SKY5-5501-11, a 5GHz front-end module (FEM) designed for Wi-Fi-enabled devices including handsets and tablets.
The advanced FEM supports simultaneous Wi-Fi and licensed assisted access (LAA) protocols for high-speed data throughput in the 5GHz WLAN and LAA spectrum.
The SKY55501-11 is highly integrated and includes a low-noise amplifier (LNA), low-loss bypass path, power splitter, and single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) transmit and receive switch.
