MACOM expands GaAs MMIC portfolio with two wideband power amplifiers

At the IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS 2020) virtual event (4–6 August), MACOM Technology Solutions Inc of Lowell, MA, USA (which makes semiconductors, components and subassemblies for analog RF, microwave, millimeter-wave and photonic applications) has launched two new gallium arsenide (GaAs)-based wideband MMIC power amplifiers, for use as driver or power amplifiers in microwave communications, test & measurement, aerospace & defense and multi-market applications.

The MAAM-011277-DIE is a wideband 0.25W power amplifier that has 22dB of linear gain and 25dBm P3dB (saturated output power at 3dB gain compression) with 17% power-added efficiency (PAE) while biased at 5V. The product is suitable for use as a driver amplifier for applications in the 20-45GHz range.

The MAAM-011291-DIE is a wideband 1W power amplifier monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) die with 19dB of linear gain, 30dBm P3dB and 15% PAE while biased at 5V. This product can be used as a driver or power amplifier in applications spanning 20-45GHz.
