EPC presenting power solutions for automotive, robotics, power tools, solar at PCIM Europe
In exhibition stand 318 (Hall 9) at the Power, Control and Intelligent Motion (PCIM) Europe 2024 event in Nuremberg, Germany (11–13 May), Efficient Power Conversion Corp (EPC) of El Segundo, CA, USA — which makes enhancement-mode gallium nitride on silicon (eGaN) power field-effect transistors (FETs) and integrated circuits for power management applications — is exhibiting what it claims is the industry’s most comprehensive portfolio of GaN-based power conversion solutions.
With a focus on efficiency, reliability and performance, EPC says that its GaN-based products offer advantages for applications such as DC–DC converters for 48V automotive and high-density computing applications, motor drives, for eMobility, robotics, power tools and drones, and renewable energy.
At PCIM, EPC is giving the following technical presentations:
- ‘State-of-the-Art in GaN-on-Si Devices with Ratings Below 400 V Including Key Applications’, presented by co-founder & CEO Alex Lidow Ph.D.;
- ‘Parallel Connection of GaN FETs in Low-Voltage Inverter Topology for Motor Drive Application’, presented by Marco Palma;
- ‘PCB Only Thermal Management Techniques for eGaN FETs in a Half-bridge Configuration’, presented by Adolfo Herrera.
Also at PCIM, EPC is involved in the following panel discussions:
- ‘GaN Wide Bandgap Design, the Future of Power’ (host: Bodo’s Power Systems), panellist: Alex Lidow;
- ‘Ensuring Quality and Reliability in SiC & GaN Power Applications’ (host: Power Electronics News), panellist: Alex Lidow;
- ‘Will SiC Ultimately Hold its Own against GaN?’ (host: WEKA Fachmedien GmbH), panellist: Alex Lidow.
“We look forward to demonstrating how our solutions empower engineers to design systems that are smaller, lighter, and more efficient than ever before,” says Nick Cataldo, VP of sales & marketing.
