Former ams Osram CEO Alexander Everke to succeed Kim Schindelhauer as chairman of Aixtron’s Supervisory Board

Deposition equipment maker Aixtron SE in Herzogenrath, near Aachen, Germany has announced Alexander Everke, who has been a member of its Supervisory Board since May 2024, as the successor to the Supervisory Board chairmanship. Existing chairman Kim Schindelhauer will resign from the position at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 15 May, when Aixtron will also propose the election of Ingo Bank as a new member of the Supervisory Board.

Schindelhauer was re-elected in 2023 for a maximum of three years to give the Supervisory Board sufficient time to identify a suitable successor. Everke, former CEO of ams OSRAM AG, is planned for election as chairman of the Supervisory Board following the AGM.

To fill the vacant board seat, Ingo Bank will be proposed for election to the Supervisory Board at the AGM. Bank is currently chief financial officer of the City Football Group, and he has extensive experience in both the finance and technology sectors. If elected, he will become a member of the Supervisory Board’s Audit Committee.

“It has been an honor for me to contribute to Aixtron in various management roles for over 30 years,” says Schindelhauer. “Everke is an excellent choice for the role of Supervisory Board chairman,” he comments.

“I would like to thank Kim Schindelhauer for his unparalleled, long-standing commitment to the company in various management roles,” states Aixtron’s president Dr Felix Grawert. “His willingness to extend his Supervisory Board mandate once again in order to give the Supervisory Board the opportunity to identify his successor in the best possible way was exemplary. Furthermore, Kim Schindelhauer has shaped Aixtron with his expertise and entrepreneurial decision-making, thereby making a significant contribution to the company’s success.”

In 1992, Schindelhauer joined the former Aixtron Semiconductor Technologies GmbH as managing director. In 1997, he played a leading role in the IPO of Aixtron AG and subsequently became a member of its Executive Board. In 2002, he transitioned to the Supervisory Board, which he led for over 20 years with only a brief interruption in 2017, when he took over operational responsibility again as CEO and CFO for six months in a difficult situation. Under his leadership, Aixtron grew from a niche provider of LED manufacturing equipment to a global market leader for compound semiconductor deposition equipment.

Bank is CFO of the City Football Group since May 2023. He served as CFO of ams OSRAM AG from May 2020 until April 2023, having joined the company from OSRAM Licht AG, where he had also served as CFO for four years. Bank began his career at the Philips technology group, where he spent 18 years working in roles including positions in the LCD division in Asia, CFO of the lamps business, and global CFO for the healthcare division.
