BluGlass appoints global capital markets veteran to board
BluGlass Ltd of Silverwater, Australia — which develops and manufactures gallium nitride (GaN) visible laser diodes based on its proprietary low-temperature, low-hydrogen remote-plasma chemical vapor deposition (RPCVD) technology — has appointed Yam Rubenstein as a non-executive director to support its growing global operations.
Rubenstein is an Israel-based entrepreneur and investor, with more than two decades of experience in global financial markets. He is the founder & CEO at investment firm 102 Percent Ltd, providing corporate finance, investment and strategic advisory services across technology, fintech and capital market sectors. Rubenstein is also an advisory board member for Nasdaq-listed AI-powered disinformation detection company Cyabra.
He has previously held senior management roles at leading investment houses and banks in Israel, including deputy CEO of Migdal Capital Markets for more than 10 years, where he developed and led the prime brokerage business, traded all financial instruments globally, and built relationships with top-tier investment banks and institutional investors around the world.
As co-founder of June 76 investments, Rubenstein is one of BluGlass’ largest shareholders as well as a major investor in ASX-listed advanced manufacturing company Amaero International Ltd and place intelligence platform Beonic Ltd.
“Yam is an excellent addition to BluGlass’ refreshed board, bringing global financial acumen and extensive industry networks across Israel’s defence, aerospace and deep-tech sectors,” comments executive chair Omer Granit. “His global capital markets expertise will be invaluable as we continue to recapitalize the company to accelerate growth, increasing access to investment banks and alternative funding sources. Yam’s appointment complements and further strengthens the board’s composition, expanding our financial and customer networks beyond Australia and the USA. His existing investment in BluGlass supports the founder mentality we are fostering across the business and ensures board decisions are aligned with those of shareholders,” he adds.
“I’ve followed BluGlass’ journey over the past year and have been impressed by the calibre of its growing customer base, technical innovation, and market opportunity,” comments Rubenstein. “The company is now at a critical inflection point in its commercialization journey with industry-leading visible laser technology and highly coveted development contracts with the US Government and tier-one leaders,” he adds. “I look forward to leveraging my existing networks across global capital and technology markets to support the delivery of existing contracts, facilitate new introductions to prospective partners and customers, and fast-track BluGlass’ growth trajectory.”
